Choosing help at home is a personal decision. Take time to understand the services offered, ask questions and discuss the preferences of the person receiving care.
Questions to ask
- Which tasks can the caregiver provide, and which require a separate healthcare professional?
- How are caregivers selected and matched to the household?
- How are schedules, costs and changes to care agreed?
- Who should the family contact with feedback or concerns?
Be clear about the type of care
Advent Caregivers LLC offers non-medical in-home care. Assistance with daily activities and companionship is different from skilled nursing, medical treatment or rehabilitation. If a hospital team recommends follow-up healthcare, ask that team to explain the services and provider qualifications required.
Make an informed choice
Request clear information about the proposed arrangement and keep a copy of the agreed care plan and terms. For questions about legal rights, insurance coverage or eligibility, consult the relevant authority or a qualified adviser.
